1941 - 1980
The Early Years
In 1941 Dr. Leopold Goldschmidt, a pediatrician, receives an opportunity to represent the American company "Lederle" in Palestine, then under British Mandate rule. In 1951 his son-in-law, Mr. Zvi Sharel, joined the company, and together they initiated a breakthrough in its medicine and animal feed supplement activities. In the 1960s the company forged strategic partnerships with additional international companies, including the German pharmaceutical company "Hermal".
1980
David Fuhrer Joins the Company
Mr. Sharel's son-in-law, David Fuhrer, joins the company as a division manager. Under his leadership, the chemicals and veterinary departments become leaders in their respective fields. In the animal feed supplement sector, Neopharm led the market with products such as "Saigro", "Auropac" and "Avotan". In the chemicals sector, the company became a leader in composite materials with "Rohacell", enzymes for the food industry and raw materials for the plastics industry. In 1986, David also assumed responsibility for the medical department and was appointed CEO of the company.
The 80s–90s
Tremendous Momentum in Pharmaceuticals
Neopharm continues to develop, flourishing as it secures the Israeli representation of multinational companies such as "Organon", "Parke-Davis" and "Whitehall". In doing so, the company takes its place as a significant marketer of prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines and consumer products. The company also establishes an independent distribution network for pharmacies, becoming one of Israel's leading pharmaceutical wholesalers.
1999
Founding of LDD for Soil Remediation and Environmental Protection
LDD is the leading, largest and longest-established company in Israel in the field of soil and groundwater remediation. The company specializes both in general environmental consulting on a range of topics and in executing complex soil and water remediation projects in Israel and abroad.
The 2000s
A Time of Mergers and Acquisitions
Neopharm is in a growth surge, entering or expanding the fields of logistics and distribution, medical and scientific equipment marketing, home care as an alternative to hospitalization, pharmacy compounding, and medicine and generics import. During this decade, Neopharm established its position as a leading supplier of medicines, consumer products and cosmetics in Israel, with a consistent growth in sales, year after year.
2003
Entering the World of Medical Equipment
Neopharm Group enters the medical equipment field with the acquisition of Eldan, which supplies medical, analytical and scientific instruments and equipment as well as advanced materials and technologies, including technical service and professional training for system installation and implementation.
2005
Acquisition of Promedico, the Logistics and Distribution Company
Promedico becomes the Group's logistics arm and distribution company. Following this acquisition, the Group adds a compounding pharmacy and a home care unit to its portfolio.
2009
Acquisition of Genmedix
Genmedix imports medicines not registered for marketing in Israel under Regulation 29, while also supplying generic medicines.
2009
Leading Dermocosmetics in Israel
Neopharm acquires Doctor Or, an Israeli brand for facial and body care and treatment developed by dermatologists. The brand offers a wide range of dermocosmetic products intended for skin care and for treating various skin problems and conditions. The brand's product range includes an anti-aging series, a care series for facial and body skin, and an advanced treatment series.
2013
Breaking Boundaries and Going Global
Neopharm acquires Fresenius Biotech from the German Fresenius Group, which develops and markets life-saving biologic drugs for rare and incurable diseases. The products are marketed in more than 60 countries around the world. Following the acquisition, the company is renamed Neovii and its headquarters are established in Switzerland. Product manufacturing takes place at the company's plant in Germany.
2015
Manufacturing Wipes and Diapers in the Galilee Panhandle
Neopharm acquires the consumer products company DPL, as part of its strategy to expand its activities and establish its position as a leading consumer products company.
DPL specializes in the manufacturing of advanced absorbent products for babies ("Babysitter"), for adults ("Noam"), wipes, and personal care and household cleaning products.
2022
Certification by the Standards Institution of Israel for ISO 37001 – Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Management Systems
The first pharma company in Israel to achieve this groundbreaking milestone, reflecting our commitment to transparent, values-driven and responsible management.
2023
Honorable mention in the competition for the Yitzhak Rabin National Quality and Excellence Award in the large organizations category, at an official ceremony attended by the Minister of Economy

2025
The first company in Israel to be ISO 37301-certified - the new and advanced compliance management system standard.
